Teachers: Give each student a game board. Have the children color
their game boards and you can have them color the cards as well. Tell
the students to place their boards directly in front of them. Separate
children into groups of 2-4 and have one teacher supervise each group.
Cut out all cards and shuffle them. Place the stack of cards, upside
down, in the center so that everyone can reach.
Parents: Give each child one game board. Have each child color
his game board cards. Have each child put the board in front of him. Cut
out all cards and shuffle them. Place the cards, upside down, in the
center.
Play Instructions: Youngest player goes first. The first player
flips up the top card and if it’s a means of transportation that
drives on a road, he is to take that card and place it on his road game
board. If it doesn’t belong on the road, then the card gets discarded.
The next player takes his turn. Players continue taking turns flipping
one card per turn, trying to find vehicles that drive on the road. Flip
cards until all the cards have been used. (Throughout the game you can
discuss the vehicles and where they go, road, air, water, sidewalk,
etc….)
How to win: The player with the most vehicles on his road at the
end of the game is the winner.
