Sorting Shapes

Number of players: 1 – unlimited (individual activity)
Print off one Circle card sheet, one Triangle card sheet, one Diamond
card sheet and one Square card sheet per child. (links below)
Teachers: Give each student 4 different shape card sheets
including the circle, square, diamond and triangle. Have the children
color each card sheet. Cut out the cards. Have the children shuffle the
cards to mix them up. Then have each child sort the cards back into
piles of each shape. Making a pile of all circle cards, another pile of
all triangle cards and so on. Next have the child take the circle cards
and put them all in a line. Then do the same with the triangle, square
and diamond cards. Have the child say what the shapes are when putting
them in the piles and lines. Encourage the child to be creative and make
other shapes with his shape cards as well. If the children are just
learning shapes you can start with giving each child just 2 shape card
sheets.
Parents: Give the child different shape card sheets including the
