Print off 1 copy of the Game Pieces page per up to 12 players.
*Card stock paper works best.
Create Ocean Centerpiece: Cut Ocean page in half on the dotted
line. Tape sides together to make a large tube with the pictures
of the waves on the outside. Place tube in the center of the
players. See diagram below.

Create Game Pieces: Cut out around each rectangle game piece.
Fold in the center and it will sit up like a tent. See diagram
below. Give each child a game piece with a different sea animal on
it. Have each child color the game piece.

Teachers: Choose 4 children per group. Do the
following for each group of 4. Cut out around the sea animals on
the Sea Animal Picture page. (9 animal pictures per group) Give each
child in the group a few animals to color. Give each child a game
board to color. Place the 4 different game boards around the Ocean
Centerpiece. Place colored sea animal pictures inside the Ocean
Centerpiece. Give each child a game piece and have them color it. Cut
out the Number Cards.
Parents: Give each player 1 game piece and have them color it.
Put together the Ocean Centerpiece and place it in the center of the
players. Give each player a game board to color. Place the 4
game boards around the Ocean Centerpiece. Cut out the Sea Animal
Pictures and divide them between the players to color. Place the
Sea Animal Pictures inside the Ocean Centerpiece. Cut out the Number
Cards. Now you're ready to play.
Play Instructions: Have each player place their game piece on a
START fish on their personal game board. Choose one person, either
the parent or teacher, to hold the number cards. Turn over the top
number card. Read the number out loud. Have all players move
their game piece that many spaces around the board following the
direction of the arrows. If a player lands on a space that has a
hook and says "GO FISH" then he should reach into the Ocean
Centerpiece and pull out a sea animal. Continue playing until
someone has gotten 3 sea animals out of the ocean.
How to win: The first player to collect 3 sea animals from the
Ocean Centerpiece is the winner.
Discussion Suggestion: After the game is over you could hold
up each sea animal and talk about it. Name, color, size, what they
eat, etc... This is a fun way to expose children to information
about sea animals.
