3 Years 4 Years
Number of players: 13 for craft, unlimited for play
Print off all 13 alphabet blocks. (Links below)
Cut out all T shapes around the outside.
Use card stock paper for best results.
Teachers: Give each student one block T sheet. Have each student color his block sheet. When the child is finished fold the sheet in towards the blank side, on all lines, and this will form a block. Tape all edges to create a solid block. After all of the students have finished coloring, have them pick up their blocks and go to the center of the room and stand in a circle. Have the child with the A/B block step forward and show all of the students his block. Show all the students A and then B, naming the letter. Then have that child place his block in the center of the circle on the floor. Next have the child with the C/D block step out and show his letters and then place his block on-top-of the A/B block. Have all of the children take turns showing their blocks and placing it on the stack in the center. At the end there should be a stack of blocks. The children can keep their blocks or the classroom can keep them to use at another time.
Parents: Give your child all of the block sheets. Have him color each sheet. When he’s done, cut out around each T. Fold the T on all of the lines, towards the blank side. This will form a block shape. Tape all sides together to create a solid block. Then have your child tell you the letters on each block and build stacks of blocks. You can also have your child try to blow the stack down and play games to see how far away he can stand when blowing at the stack.
Play Instructions: Have children build creative stacks with all the blocks. Talk about the letters on the blocks. Have him tell you what letters he sees.
