Print off one story sheet. (link below)
Print off one group of A-Z cards per participant. (link below)
Teachers: Cut out all letter cards. Give each student his own
stack of A-Z letter cards. Have him color his letter cards. Have each
student place his letter cards face up on the table or floor in front of
him in order of A to Z.
Parents: Cut out letter cards. Give each listener a stack of A
– Z letter cards. Have him color the letters. Have each listener place
his cards, in order of A to Z, in front of him on the table or floor.
Reading Instructions: Explain that this is an active story and
that all listeners are to listen carefully and do what you tell them to
do throughout the story. Begin reading the story, and after each line,
tell the listeners to do the actions written in parenthesis at the end
of each paragraph. Provide help, with choosing the correct letters, when
needed. When the story is over have all listeners say the alphabet out
loud. You could even have your own set of letters in front of you and
pick them up to show the listeners which letters they are to grab.
