Active Story: The Fruit Bowl

Active Story: The Fruit Bowl

Story

Jimmy and his mom took a trip to the super market. They got lots of yummy food. Jimmy’s favorite food is the fruit.

“Mommy, can my friend(s) (listener’s name) put the fruit in the bowl? Asked Jimmy.

“Sure,” said mom. “But, please make sure he/she/they count the fruit as it’s placed in the bowl.”

“Don’t worry mommy, I’ll read the your grocery list out loud and make sure we got it all.” Said Jimmy.
“Ok, (listener’s name), I’m going to read you the list of fruit and mommy said you have to count them as you put them in the bowl. Are you ready?” asked Jimmy. “Here we go!” said Jimmy.

“Put 1 bunch of grapes in the bowl.
Next find 2 bundles of blue berries and add those.
Now find 3 pineapples and place those in.
There should be 4 watermelon. Doing good so far.” Said Jimmy.
“Now get the 5 bananas and add them to the group.
And there should be 6 oranges there too. Did you find those?” Asked Jimmy.
“Oh, make sure to get the 7 pears, I love pears!” Jimmy said.
“Now find 8 pairs of cherries and 9 strawberries and place them in the bowl.
The last items are 10 lemons and the bowl should be full.”

“Mommy, the bowl is full and we counted all the fruit.” Said Jimmy.
“Good job (listener’s name)!” said Mom. “Now lets eat some fruit!”
