Story

“Yipee!”Yelled Bobby. “Today is our trip to the park,” he said.
“Are you ready to go?” Said dad.
“Yes, let’s go find some interesting things for me to use on my art project,” said Bobby.

They were off to the park. Their first stop was at the bottom of a large oak tree. “Daddy, what are those small, hard things on the ground?” Asked Bobby.
“Those are called Acorns. They grow on the oak tree.” said dad.
“This would be a good thing for my project.” Said Bobby.
He picked up the acorn and put it in his bag.
(Pick up the acorn picture and put it in your paper bag.)

They walked down a path and bobby spotted something shiny on the ground. “Daddy, look at this rock, it’s so shiny.” He said.
“That’s called quartz.” Said dad.
“I’m going to put this in my bag too.” Said Bobby.
(Pick up the quartz rock picture and put it in the paper bag.)

Bobby stood up tall and sniffed a deep breath. He smelled a very nice odor. “What’s that smell?” He asked.
“That fragrance is coming from those pretty flowers over there. Those are called daisies.” Said dad.
“I want one of those too!” He said.
Bobby ran to a flower, picked it up and put it in his bag.
(Pick up the flower picture and put it in your bag.)

“Wow, this is the biggest leaf I’ve ever seen.” Said Bobby. “I’m definitely keeping this.”
(Put the leaf picture in your bag.)

Bobby and his dad felt hot and wanted to cool off. They sat in the shade under a pine tree.
“Ouch.” Said Bobby. “What did I sit on?”
“That’s a pine cone. They grow on this pine tree and eventually fall off.” Said dad.
“This is cool,” said Bobby, as he put the pine cone in his bag.
(Put the pine cone picture in your bag.)

“This is an interesting stick, it’s also called a twig, right daddy?”
“That’s right.” Said dad.
“I’m going to keep this too.” Said Bobby. He picked up the stick and put it with the other items he had collected.
(Put the stick picture in your bag.)

After a few minutes, Bobby and his dad decided to get up and walk a little further. Bobby saw two birds jumping around. He ran and the birds flew away. “Hey, look, one of the birds lost a feather. This is soft.” Said Bobby. “This will be great for my project.” He said. And in his bag it went.
(Put the feather picture in your bag.)

Next to the feather was some tall, green grass. Bobby took some of that too.
(Put the grass picture in your bag.)

Bobby ran toward his dad. He wanted to show him the items he had found. On the way, he tripped over something. He stopped and bent over and picked up a prickly, round, brown ball. “What’s this?” Bobby asked.
“That’s a sweet gum ball from that sweet gum tree.” Said dad.
“I want this too.” Said Bobby. ‘I like its name, sweet gum ball.”
(Put the sweet gum ball picture in your bag.)

“Daddy, my bag is full and I’m tired.” Said Bobby. “Can we go home now?”

“Sure, let’s go home and start on your fun project.” Said dad.
